A collaborative journey of unmasking and healing. We combine neuro-affirming and complex trauma-informed EMDR therapy with somatic (body-based) techniques to process trauma and balance out your nervous system. We can also discuss executive functioning skills, navigating this neurotypical (NT) world as a neurodiverse (ND) person, and explore how neurodiversity impact your other held identities and lived experiences.
Sessions are customized to your goals and processing style. I believe in meeting you where you’re at, being a therapeutic guide as you explore the uncharted or uncomfortable, highlighting the your strengths and using them as a guide to addressing your concerns, and tailoring my approach to you.

It means I don’t view your ADHD, Autism, and/or other equally important and recognized neurodivergence as a deficit to be “fixed”. I provide a space where you don't have to mask your true self. We work with your brain’s natural wiring—including sensory needs—to find ND-informed healing strategies that work for your nervous system as you navigate a world designed for neuronormativity.

I bring a distinct blend of intersecting identities, training, and approaches that shapes how I work. As a Black, neurodivergent clinician in Ohio, I provide neuro-affirming, person-centered care that intentionally centers BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ experiences and honors the diverse ways of thinking, being, and sensing.
Rather than fitting you into a diagnostic box, I collaborate with you to understand how intersecting identities, systems, culture, trauma, and neurodivergence interact in your life, using EMDR when helpful and tailoring interventions to your values and goals.
Diverse and Thriving Counseling prioritizes accessibility, cultural humility and competence, and practical strategies that respect your identity(ies), autonomy, and the contexts of your life.

This is a low-pressure video or phone call. It’s a chance for you to share what’s bringing you in, for me to explain my approach, and for us to see if we feel like a good “fit” before scheduling a full intake.
-
That is completely okay. You don’t need a “to-do” list. We’ll start by identifying what feels heavy in your life right now and move at a pace that respects your comfort. I’ll help guide our sessions to identify goals that actually matter to you.
-
Ending therapy is a joint decision. You’ll know you’re ready when you feel more grounded in your identity, possess the tools to navigate triggers independently, and feel that therapy has moved from a necessity to a choice.

The Flash technique was originally developed by Phil Manfield in 2017 to quickly reduce distress from traumatic memories before beginning EMDR therapy. Since its inception, Thomas Zimmerman developed the Predictive Processing Flash (formerly Four Blinks Version of Flash) as a way to help people who have severe complex trauma histories.
This is a safe and effective companion or alternative to EMDR therapy designed to target high-distress memories without “flooding” your system. It allows us to process complex traumas, such as sexual-based trauma or attachment wounds, in small, digestible pieces that prevent post-session "hangovers" or dissociation.

Yes. As an EMDRIA Consultant-in-Training (CIT) under Thomas Zimmerman, I help clinicians expand and tailor their EMDR approach for BIPOC-specific concerns, complex traumas, and neurodiversity.
I also provide clinical supervision for Ohio CTs and LPCs. Visit my Professional Services page for more information.
